During O-Week UNSW transforms into a sprawling festival filled with numerous events, clubs, and people everywhere, not to mention lots of free stuff. It all showcases what you can accomplish, learn, and just have fun with whilst at University. There are too many things to list here, so you can look at our full timetable for exhaustive coverage of the week, and to find out times and locations for everything below.
Social Events
Have you ever wanted a chance to break a world record, wrestle in sumo suits, or play a real life game of Quidditch? At O-Week you'll have the chance to try out all of these and more. So come along and have a blast with the all of events we have planned for the week.
Games and Prizes
O-Week has plenty of opportunities for you to go up against your mates and show them who's the very best, like no one ever was. Whether your talents lie in performing, spelling, wrestling in pools of jelly, or you're just looking to have fun we have something for you to do.
With bragging rights and plenty of awesome prizes to be won, make sure you check out some of the competitions going on during O-Week.
Freebies and Food
After paying for all your textbooks we know you might be a little short on cash. Thankfully most of the events at O-Week are free and you can get your hands on plenty of other freebies.
Some of the things you'll be able to find every day for free are fairy floss, pancakes and snow cones; as well as being able to make your own badges. There are also free tour bags for everyone that goes on a campus tour.
Academic Events
Not for the faint-hearted, academic events could not be further from how they sound! Meander through tanks of gruesome suspended body parts, keep up to date with the most recent developments in hacktivism (computer hacking for a cause), or listen to a leading UNSW academic who is paid to think about sex all day. There is something for everyone. After attending an academic event, you're guaranteed one thing - you'll never think about your degree in the same way.
Clubs
Clubs at O-Week are there to impress; they run events and man stalls throughout the week so that you can find anything that interests you and make the most out of your student life. Their events show first-hand what they are offering, so make sure to check them out to find the clubs that best fit you.
Whether it be Latin dancing, debating, cheerleading, kickboxing or the far more relaxed activities of the Food Lovers Society or the Gameplayers Society; clubs have something to make your student life just that little bit more entertaining.
Make sure you make the most of your university experience and see what clubs have to offer as part of the fun side of university.
Can't wait for O-Week to see all the clubs? Check out the clubs that will be at O-Week! For other clubs you can also see the Arc Affiliated Clubs list.
