Yellowshirts are members of Arc@UNSW's O-Week volunteering program. There are around 150 student volunteers each year who are on campus every day during O-Week to answer questions, take tours of the campus and run the various activities and events during O-Week.
The aim of the Yellowshirt program is to orient new students geographically, socially and academically - this means we don't want you to get lost, we want you to meet new people and have fun and we want to help in preparing you to take on the new and exciting challenge that university classes represent. We aim to do this partially through our tours and events, but primarily by providing a friendly and approachable face during O-Week.
Applications for the Yellowshirts program typically open for 2-3 weeks in mid-Semester 2 each year. The dates for the application are advertised on the Arc website (http://arc.unsw.edu.au/), in the Blitz magazine and in the student diaries.
