Parents
Starting out at University can be an exciting and challenging time not only for students, but for their parents as well. O-Week provides a great chance for parents to find out about UNSW and University life in general. On the Monday evening of O-Week (Monday the 23rd of February), parents can come into Uni for the Vice-Chancellor's welcome to parents, and to take a campus tour.
The campus tours for parents are taken by Yellow Shirts and are an abbreviated version of the tours given to students. They cover important locations and services on campus which you might not have otherwise known about and let you get a feel for the campus where your child will be studying in the coming years. The tours will start and finish at the Sir John Clancy Auditorium, which is where the VC's welcome will take place. There are two tour sessions, one starting at 5:30pm and another at 7:30pm, so you can choose to take a tour either before or after the VC's welcome.
If you have any questions you'd like answered, you can jump on over to our forums, and one of the friendly Yellowshirts will be able to help you out. You might also find our page of tips for parents of commencing undergraduate students useful in addressing some common concerns.
